Pineapple Room

Welcome to our Pineapple Room which is run by the talented and highly experienced childcare team. Hannah who is a qualified early years teacher, Catherine, Charlotte and Pam. The Pineapple classroom is situated in our large hall and has lots of space for the children to play, explore and investigate freely, alongside some structured activities, enabling the children to progress successfully through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Children enjoy free flow play between the classroom and outdoor balcony area alongside their daily outdoor play. Our garden area offers a ‘Learning Hub’ outdoor classroom which offers children opportunities for natural play such as clay, loose parts play and much more!

Extra Activities

Weekly P.E sessions are introduced over the spring and summer term. This promotes children’s independence and self-help skills in preparation for school.

The pineapple class children enjoy weekly visits to St Paul’s church where they enjoy Bible stories and practice songs for their upcoming Easter, Christmas and Harvest celebrations, Families are always invited to attend these special events.

Trips and Outings

To extend children’s experiences in the wider world we organise coach trips to Madley Environmental centre. The children take part in natural outdoor activities such as foraging, potion making and sculpting with mud.

Each year at our Nursery the children can take part in our ‘Walkers and Talkers’ sponsored walk at the quarry. We use this fundraising event to promote children’s language skills as we discuss what we can see, hear, touch and feel.

We also enjoy visits from the Fire Service, Police and other community agencies.

Parents Evening

We hold regular parents evenings for all classrooms. Parents and carers are welcome to attend in order to discuss their children’s progress and celebrate achievements. We are also available to discuss your child's progress throughout the nursery day.

School Transitions

We liaise closely with schools and children’s new reception teachers, who will be invited to visit the children at nursery. To ensure a smooth transition, circle times and small group times are used to discuss going to school in a positive way. Transition documents will also be completed by the child’s key person and passed on to the child’s new reception teacher.
